After graduating from New York's School of Visual Arts, Lucy Fremont began making her living photographing artwork for galleries, artists and collectors. From this sprang the notion for her current series of photographs. "On one studio visit, " she explains, "as I was setting up to photograph an abstract painting, the artist's cat came over and sat under it. I noticed there was a similarity between the pattern on the painting and the markings on the cat's fur. That started this series of color prints, linking visual connections between animals and the art they live with. |
