North Road
Greenwich, NY 12834
Varosy Studios showcases the work of Gyula and Hannie Varosy. Gyula Varosy, born in Hungary 1942, makes sculpture out of tree trunks, old structural beams, fragile pieces of wood that have had many lives before. He makes them into a collection of forms that resonate hardship, suffering, loss, yet also perseverance and triumph. Hannie Eisma Varosy, born in The Netherlands, 1952, is an artist and teacher who works in many media. Most recently she has made metal creatures in boxes that vaguely remind her of cartoon characters or paper dress dolls from the past.

Lucy Fremont's art
Lucy Fremont, Photography

After graduating from New York's School of Visual Arts, Lucy Fremont began making her living photographing artwork for galleries, artists and collectors. From this sprang the notion for her current series of photographs. "On one studio visit, " she explains, "as I was setting up to photograph an abstract painting, the artist's cat came over and sat under it. I noticed there was a similarity between the pattern on the painting and the markings on the cat's fur. That started this series of color prints, linking visual connections between animals and the art they live with.
